Each winter, we face the possibility of days where we are unable to send out hot meals due to inclement weather or icy roadways. As winter approaches, we like to send each of our clients a couple of shelf stable, ready-to-eat meals to have on hand when we are unable to get a hot meal delivered to them. Help us prepare by collecting the following items and sealing them together in a gallon-sized, zipper sealed bag: 1) ready-to-eat canned soup (not the kind that requires water), 2) nutri-grain or granola bar, 3) individual box of raisins, 4) individual canned or boxed juice (no grapefruit or energy drinks, and 5) individual container of fruit.
Meal packages may be delivered to the Meals on Wheels Anderson location at 105 S. Fant Street. Deliveries may be made Monday through Thursday from 8 am – 4 pm or Friday from 8 am – 2 pm. Click here to download a shelf stable meals flyer to share with your colleagues and friends. Our goal is to collect and distribute 1,500 shelf stable meals, so we need your help!
Ending Senior Hunger
At Meals on Wheels, our service is simple. We feed people. We feed the elderly and disabled that may not have help from anyone else. We ensure they will know where their next meal is coming from. We feed veterans, stroke victims, cancer patients. People who taught our parents. People who knew our grandparents. People who are now practically alone in this world. Help us feed the elderly and disabled homebound residents of Anderson County. Support Meals on Wheels Anderson.
