Introducing: The Legacy Society

With the support of people like you in the Anderson community, Meals on Wheels has been serving the elderly and disabled homebound of Anderson County since 1976.  To honor the impact your gifts have made, we proudly announce the establishment of The Meals on Wheels Legacy Society.

The Legacy Society is a unique giving opportunity which will help secure the future of Meals on Wheels – Anderson.  It enables donors to continue to touch the lives of their elderly and disabled neighbors, well into the future, while creating their own lasting charitable legacy.

The foresight of those who have remembered Meals on Wheels in their will, trust or other planned gift have helped sustain and grow the services Meals on Wheels has been offering for 42 years.  Each charitable bequest is a very personal and unique expression of appreciation for the mission of Meals on Wheels.

Legacy Society membership demonstrates your personal compassion and can be an inspirational experience.  It may encourage others to look toward the future and how they too may have an enduring impact on the lives of their elderly and disabled homebound neighbors.

Consider these simple planned giving opportunities:

~ Name Meals on Wheels in your will as a beneficiary of your estate. Designate an amount, a percentage or a contingent amount for Meals on Wheels.

~ Make Meals on Wheels the owner of beneficiary (or contingent beneficiary) of a life insurance policy.

~ Make a gift of appreciated stock. Transfer stock to Meals on Wheels and receive a tax deduction for the full market value of the stock.

~ Designate Meals on Wheels as the beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k) or other retirement plan.

If you’ve already included Meals on Wheels in your will or we are a named beneficiary of a retirement account or insurance plan, we encourage you to let us know so that we may honor you as a member of The Legacy Society.
